Integrator Automotive Interface Module

gt_photo

The Integrator Interface Module is part of the peripheral development add-on system for the Integrator family. It stacks on top of an Integrator Logic Modules and provides the necessary interface electronics and connectors to support various automotive and industrial interfaces.

The Integrator/IM-AD1 Interface Module is aimed at developers who need to demonstrate a concept or application or evaluate PrimeCell Peripherals. Third party or customer designed peripherals can also be used to drive the circuitry and/or connectors.

In this way the Integrator/IM-AD1 bridges the gap between the Integrator development platform and real-world applications. This enables designers to interface with an existing system, speeding up the development of software and silicon IP for application areas such as engine management and automotive telematics.

Key features

  • 2 CAN interfaces using Bosch CC770 controller, both capable of 1Mbit/s
  • 2 x 8 channel 12 bit A/D converters. 200KS/s max, 0-5V buffered inputs
  • 12 bit D/A converter, 2 separate channels, 0-5V outputs
  • 2 x L298 2A stepper motor drivers configured for bipolar motors
  • 2 x logic level stepper motor control outputs for use with remote drive circuitry
  • 2 x 3A MOSFET configured as high side switch for DC switching or PWM output
  • 2 SPI interface connectors to support SSP PrimeCell implemented in Logic Module
  • RS232 UART
  • 2 headers each with 32 GPIO signals. Can be used to connect to daughter card for alternative interface specific hardware
  • Mictor logic analyzer connector on 32 GPIO lines
  • JTAG interface to Multi-ICE

The Interface Module is supplied with a development copy of the FPGA programming files and example software drivers for the following PrimeCells that can be supported by this board.

  • PL 190 Vectored Interrupt Controller
  • PL 011 UART
  • PL 022 Synchronous Serial Interface
  • PL 160 DC-DC Converter

Also included are HDL code examples and software to drive the remaining interfaces on the module

Please Note the Interface Module requires a compatible Logic Module stacked below, and would normally be fitted to the expansion position of an Integrator/AP.
