Integrator Portable Interface Module

ai17

This Integrator Interface Module is part of the peripheral development add-on system for the Integrator family. It stacks on top of an Integrator Logic Module and provides the necessary interface electronics and connectors to support the peripherals suitable for the portable, wireless and entertainment markets.

The Integrator/IM-PD1 Interface Module is aimed at developers who need to demonstrate a concept or application, or evaluate PrimeCell Peripherals. Third party or customer designed peripherals can also be used to drive the circuitry and/or connectors.

Interface Module Key Features

  • Support for MMC/SD memory cards (PrimeCell MCI)
  • Level shifting circuit and connector for two UARTs and an SiR transceiver (PrimeCell UART with SiR)
  • Generic connector for an LCD panel (PrimeCell CLCD)
  • VGA interface capable of being driven by PrimeCell CLCD
  • Touch screen controller IC (ADS7843) and connector (PrimeCell SPI)
  • AC-97 audio codec with DIN connector and 3.5 mm stereo jack sockets (PrimeCell AACI)
  • USB type A & B transceivers and connectors (requires user provided HDL)
  • Smart card reader
  • 6 General-purpose pushbuttons
  • Buzzer
  • GPIO
  • Mictor logic analyzer connector
  • JTAG interface to Multi-ICE unit

The Integrator IM-PD1 Interface Module is supplied with a development copy of the FPGA programming files and example software drivers for the following PrimeCells that can be supported by this board:

  • PL 190 Vectored Interrupt Controller Virtual Component
  • PL 011 UART Virtual Component
  • PL 022 Synchronous Serial Interface Virtual Component
  • PL 130 Smartcard Interface Virtual Component
  • PL 181 Multi Media Card (MMC) Interface Virtual Component
  • PL 061 General Purpose I/O Virtual Component
  • PL 110 Colour LCD Controller Virtual Component
  • PL 041 Advanced Audio Codec Interface Virtual Component

Please Note: The Interface Module requires a compatible Logic Module to be stacked below and would normally be fitted to the expansion position of an Integrator/AP.
