Snapper 255 Single Board Computer Module
The Snapper 255 Single Board Computer Module is designed to be used as the system core in a wide range of ARM-based products. It includes a high-performance ARM-based microcontroller, a practical selection of peripherals, high-speed and flash memories and a powerful Altera FPGA; all integrated onto a single module no larger than a standard business card.
Snapper 255 incorporates a high-performance Marvell XScale PXA255 microcontroller at 400MHz, 64MB SDRAM, 512MB NAND Flash memory, 10/100 Ethernet, 2 x USB 2.0 OTG Host and USB 1.1 Device Ports, Serial UARTs, a selection of Altera FPGAs (EP1C4 or EP1C12), a stereo audio codec and touch-screen controller, and a versatile LCD controller. In fact, the Snapper 255 Single Board Computer Module provides basically everything you need to create a high-end embedded system.
A buffered 32-bit ARM System Bus is also brought out to external pins, allowing it to be directly interfaced to other high-performance devices (i.e. a DSP). The FPGA external interface is implemented so as to support 32-bit or 64-bit Master/Target PCI at up to 66MHz.
To aid product development with the Snapper 255 Single Board Computer Module, Bluewater Systems has also released the Rig 200 Development Kit. These provide developers with a feature-rich base board enabling the development of drivers and application software for products that are to use the Snapper 255 module. This is ideal for initial product prototyping and also allows software and hardware development to occur in parallel.
