Snapper CL15 Single Board Computer Modulesnappercl15

The Snapper CL15 Single Board Computer Module is designed to be used as the system core in a wide range of ARM-based products. Snapper CL15 is a mid-performance, low-cost System Module that provides a wide range of high-performance features, yet offers a small form factor.
Snapper CL15 uses a Cirrus Logic EP9315 microprocessor, 64MB SDRAM, three USB host ports, a flexible LCD controller and 10/100 Ethernet.

High Speed USB Device
Snapper CL15 has two unique features in the market. Firstly, like our Snapper 255 product, it uses removeable media in the form of NAND chips to provide up to 1GB of high-speed non-volatile storage memory. Advanced wear-leveling techniques provide a media lifetime of over 10 years in normal use and avoid the worst-case deterioration which can commonly occur with flash media and FAT file systems.
Secondly, Snapper CL15 optionally includes a high-speed USB device port operating at 480Mbps. This provides very high-speed data connectivity to a host PC or other USB host controller. With the on-board IDE controller with DMA, Snapper CL15 can act as a USB hard disk, solid data storage device, or even the basis for a media player application.

Flexible LCD Support
Snapper CL15 can support a wide range of LCDs up to 18 bits per pixel (6 bits per colour RGB) at up to 1280x1024 resolution. With the addition of a small chip, Snapper CL15 can also support LVDS displays which are sometimes available at a lower cost to TTL displays. (Snapper 255 provides built-in LVDS support through the FPGA, but Snapper CL15 does not include an FPGA, to reduce cost).
Snapper CL15 can drive up to 46 inch LCD panels in perfect clarity with no additional interface logic. On-board graphics acceleration system, high-speed graphics blitting and line/rectangle drawing are available. This means that Snapper CL15 is the ideal platform for a snappy display application.

Typical Applications

Small Enough to Fit in Your Design, & Your Budget
Snapper CL15 is smaller than a business card, only 40mm x 70mm x 12mm including connector height, and runs cold to the touch. With a total weight of only 9g, Snapper CL15 can be squeezed into the tiniest space, so it does not pose unpleasant physical constraints on your product design.
Best of all Snapper CL15 is low cost. Single and volume pricing is available on request.

Everything to Get You Started
A Rig 200 kit comes with Snapper CL15, a fully configured Linux kernel with driver support, a carrier board with connectors for most peripherals and comprehensive doucumentation. Using this you can get started right away on prototyping your design, with the confidence that the software provided will work essentially unmodified in your final product design.

Tested and verified schematic designs are available for connecting various Snapper CL15 peripherals to the outside world on your carrier board. Footprint and schematic files are available for some popular PCB design packages to help you get started.
