GNU GCC Toolchain
When compiling code for the Snapper 9260, or any other of our ARM-based modules/development boards, we recommend using the GCC tool chain from Code Sourcery. Code Sourcery provide a commercially support C & C++ tool chain, based on the well known Open Source GCC compiler suite. This tool chain is backed by various industry partners, including ARM, and is well tested before a final release is made.
Bluewater currently recommend using the 2007q3 release, for GNU/Linux. This is a known & tested release, which is widely recommended as a stable tool chain. All binaries available from Bluewater will be built using this tool chain, and as compatibility issues can arise when mixing binaries from different build environments, we recommend using it where ever possible.
